LITERATURE TEACHING STRATEGIES
This concept map shows a couple of the Teaching Strategies I believe to be useful and effective to teaching. They allow for Variety and difference and will bring uniqueness and freshness to my teaching. Many of them will interconnect and help bridge learning for many students. It will also act as motivator for students to learn new things and bridge their own fears when it comes to literature as the strategies are ranging from different techniques and will help stretch students understanding.

READ WRITE PAIR SHARE is a great teaching literacy technique because it includes at least three of the Literacy components. Click on "I AM FROM" which is a link to an end example of this teaching strategy. First we read poems similar to it, then we wrote out own, paired up to review it, and then shared its final stage.
Annotations is a great tool for visual and kinesthetic learners while reading because they can actively engage in what they are reading by using marks, underlining, circles and other shapes to understand the meaning of the literature. |
