I graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a major in Native American History, French and Spanish. I am fluent in Spanish because I lived in Southern California for 17 months serving the people. In this volunteer time, I learned discipline, study skills, and hard work.. I grew up in a small southern Alberta town. My favorite views were looking out at the mountains in all seasons but particularly when covered in snow, and watching the wheat fields change color as harvest time approached. In High school. I saved up money from numerous jobs to be able to travel with my school. I have seen much of Europe in those travels and also found an interest in History. This helped me decide my major. I chose the Native American stream because of my heritage. My ancestry is a big part of who I am, a First Nations Descendant and I wanted to know more about my history.
I know live in Cowley Wyoming, with my husband Frank, and three children: Daizy, Canyon and Julie Ann. I still get to see my mountains even if they don't have as much snow on them. Together as a family we enjoy camping, four wheeling and riding our horses. We are constantly on the move from sport to sport as we enjoy the friendships we all make. I have coached Daizy 3 years now in Volley Ball, and once in Basketball, and once in Fast Pitch and look forward to what her sporting career will take her as she moves on to the Middle School next year. Canyon will just be entering grade 3 and his sporting interests will soon be discovered. Julie Ann is our baby and she is 2 years old and enjoys her family and all their interests as if they were her own.
When I was 13 I became an Assistant coach in the town's Skating Club. I learned how to take control and direct my own classes while a Head Coach gave guidance. I skated privately until I was 17. When I was 16, I took all my courses to become a Lifeguard/Instructor. I have since then been increasing these certifications to include more instructing knowledge. Now I teach a variety of Life guarding and First Aid courses as well as basic swim lessons. I have always enjoyed working with children in this job setting. This is one of the biggest reasons I wanted to become a teacher. It always makes me happy when I see someone improve and put into practice the knowledge I have given them.. It has always been my dream to change the world and to make a difference.. I know through teaching I will be accomplishing my dream one student at a time.
