Anne Cassidy was an educator in the country of the United Kingdom, before becoming a writer. She is commonly known for writing around the lives of the youth and using common topics to hook her readers. Now, just because she is targeting the youth, does not mean her books are not meant for adults. This book was not only interesting but leaves a hook into the sequal.
The topic of lesson in this book is the power we hold in our own circumstances. The young girl began to notice things about herself, her grandmother, sorta step-brother and other people. She became more aware of the impact she had and could have in life, while learning valuable lessons of rule following, and looking deeper into life.
This book reminds me of the Nancy Drew type of books. Solving the mystery and following the clues is what she does, and she gets the job done, even though she steps on the toes of the police department.
